Wow! almost a year since my last post… so much to discuss. This is what happens with a 3 hour delay…
Here, we stand in first place, with so many problems facing us as we are 6 weeks out from the ASG…
The Bullpen is hurting, so badly. Darvish, is still garbage, better than I expected, but garbage. Hendricks has been a rockstar, but has an ERA of 3.34, and has, and probably will see a few more bad games. Hamels and Quintana are sitting ugly w ERAs between 4.02 and 5.06.. GARBAGE!!! Where’s Lester? Where and when wil see a decent signing for a closer? Is Epstien waiting until we slip too far down the rabbit hole? Waiting till after the ASG/break? will we see a late signing, as we did with Murphy last year? Two big league arms remain unsigned, such a waste! WE NEED them both!!!! PICK ONE and sign him!!!!!!
Injuries, divorce, domestic violence plague the team. Ben Zobrist’s abrupt departure has hurt, and it’s noticeable, and extremely understandable. Bryant and Heyward’s collision was more than a scary sight, let alone when both were out for the following game night. We can not afford any one out. Russell has stepped up, but I’m not a fan. I am a domestic violence survivor, and it broke my heart that they allowed him to stay. I can not wait for his release.
Batting… if I could insert a rolling eye emoji, I would…. 2 batters in the top 25, 2, that’s it! They both carry an average above .300, not by much, Rizzo and Baez, both on tract for record breaking HRs. OPS is what keeping this team afloat, at least you can look up that average and see multiple Cubs players.
On that positive note, till I write again! I need to post my Milwaukee bus trip and opening day 2019 pics and stories…
Till next time, GO CUBS, GO!!!
